PRIVACY BY DESIGN.
A privacy policy for a site with almost no data to collect. No account, no sign-up, no tracking cookies. Here is exactly what is and is not stored, in plain language.
THE SHORT VERSION
There is almost nothing here to have a privacy policy about. That is the design, not an accident.
No account. No sign-up. No login. No tracking cookies. No email list. We do not sell, share, or distribute anything, and we take no money from any union, employer, law firm, or third party.
WHAT THE SITE STORES
The support counter (/sign): clicking "I support this" adds one row to our database. That row is a timestamp and a random ID. Nothing else. No name, no email, no IP address, no device fingerprint. We literally cannot tell who clicked. The counter is just a running total.
Issue reports (/report) and the corrections box on Sources: when you submit, we store exactly four things, the text you typed, which page you picked, an issue category, and a timestamp. Nothing else.
Reports are write-only. The public key the site uses can add a report but cannot read any back out. Only the site maintainers read them, only to fix the site, and your words are never published. Because reports are fully anonymous, we cannot tell which one is yours later, which also means we cannot find and delete a specific one on request. So write them the way this site teaches everything else: no names, no employer, nothing that identifies you.
ANALYTICS
We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses, and cannot identify you or follow you across sites. We see aggregate numbers only ("the freelancers page got N visits"), never individuals. A standard content blocker stops it and the site still works fine.
THE ONE HONEST CAVEAT: SERVER LOGS
Like every website, the companies that host this site and run its database keep standard connection logs for a short time. Those logs can include your IP address.
We do not control that logging, we do not join it to anything here, and we never use it to identify anyone. But we will not pretend it does not exist. If you have real reason to worry about being tracked, the safe habit is the same one we repeat everywhere on this site: use a personal device on a personal network, not a work one.
WHAT WE WILL NEVER DO
We will never harvest or hand over visitor data for workplace surveillance, employer counter-organizing, or any attempt to identify, profile, or track the people who visit or support this site. Our robots.txt says the same.
There is no user data here to scrape anyway: no accounts, no email lists, no tracking cookies.
WHY WE ARE ANONYMOUS
Retaliation against workers who organize is the whole subject of this site, so we take our own advice and do not sign it.
You should not have to trust us, and you do not: every statistic and legal claim traces to a primary source on the Sources page. Check the receipts, not the names.
The full legal picture, including who the NLRA covers and why we stay anonymous, lives on the Disclaimer page. Think something here is wrong? Report it →
