THE PLAIN TERMS.

A free, anonymous education site still needs the basic ground rules. Here they are, in plain language: what this is, what it is not, and the limits of relying on it.

USING THIS SITE

By using UnionCraft you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

UnionCraft is a free, anonymous, educational resource. There is nothing to buy, no account to create, and no login. We accept no money from anyone.

GENERAL INFORMATION, NOT ADVICE

Everything here is general educational information about labor law and organizing, not legal advice, and not a substitute for a lawyer. Using this site creates no attorney-client relationship.

Labor law is complex, changes often, and depends on your state, industry, employer, and how you are classified. A statement that is true in general may be wrong or harmful in your specific situation. Consult a qualified labor attorney before you act. Our Find a Lawyer page is a starting point.

NO WARRANTY

The site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. That includes any warranty of accuracy, completeness, currency, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

We work hard to keep the information correct and current, and every claim is sourced. But labor law moves fast, and information here may become outdated or contain errors. If you spot one, tell us on the Report an Issue page.

YOU ASSUME THE RISK

You are solely responsible for any action you take based on this site. Organizing carries real risks, and only you know your workplace, your situation, and your tolerance for those risks.

Do not treat anything here as a green light to act without your own judgment and, where it matters, professional advice. When the stakes are high, talk to a labor attorney or an established union organizer first.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent allowed by law, UnionCraft and the people who operate it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for any damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site.

To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, its total amount will not exceed one hundred US dollars.

LINKS TO OTHER SITES

We link to outside resources, unions, law firms, and government pages for your convenience. We do not control them, endorse them, or vouch for them, and we take no compensation for any listing. Do your own due diligence before relying on any of them.

If you run an organization or firm we link to and want a listing corrected or removed, use the Report an Issue page and we will handle it promptly.

CHANGES AND GOVERNING LAW

We may update these terms as the site evolves. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the site operators reside, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

How your data is handled lives on the Disclaimer page. Spot an error here? Report it →
